Christmas Message from Fr. Carlos Limongi
"Awake, mankind! For your sake God has become man... I tell you again: for your sake, God became man."
- St. Augustine
With these beautiful words from St. Augustine, I extend to our whole parish community a deep and heartfelt Christmas greeting. Echoing Andy Williams, we can all agree that it truly is "the most wonderful time of the year." During Advent and throughout the Christmas season, the world feels differentour hearts are full, people arejoyful, everything shines like no other time. Whether or not one is practicing or even believes, the spirit of Christmas is contagious and transforming.
We may not reflect on it often, but it is worth asking: Why is Christmas so transforming? Christ entered the world not merely to give rules or moral teachings; He came to *change our lives*-to renew the world-by taking on our humanity in the most tender way possible: as a baby.
Babies fill our hearts with tenderness and love. They make us want to protect them, cherish them, and make the world beautiful for them. Their presence transforms us.
Jesus, coming as a baby, desires to transform us in the same way. He wants to fill us with tenderness, love, joy, and hope. His presence invites us to make the world more beautiful, more joyful, and more compassionate for everyone.
As we celebrate the birth of Jesus, may the mystery of God becoming man truly change us. Let us thank the Lord for wanting to transform our hearts, and may we always rejoice in His presence among us.
Wishing you a Blessed and Merry Christmas!
